Offline server

Offline servers

There are some cases when our server environment has to run in an internal network without any external access at all. Offline servers always require unique configuration so please contact us before you start the installation.

In this situations we cannot provide the following things:

• Certbot and Let's Encrypt certification.
• Centralized monitoring.
• Other cloud-based services. (If the server can't reach the internet.)
  • Weather
  • Short-URL generation
  • IP location resolve
  • Cloud folder synchronization

• Easy remote maintenance.

To disable the license server you should add the following environment variables with empty value to the master container's compose:

• - license-server-url=
• - license-server-apikey=

Differences for offline servers:

• Licensing
  • Online server connecting to our license server. This means if you want more licenses we can provide them within an hour.
  • An offline server needs a license file to start and you have to contact us about licensing before you start the installation!
  • Based on the agreement we will send a license file (license.txt) which you have to copy to ${VOLUMES_PATH}/master/wallboard-storage folder BEFORE you start the server. Otherwise, the server won't start!
    • After the first time, you can also update the license from the interface
      • Content editor -> Administrator -> License -> Upload
