OnCall IVR Designer v7.11.2, part of OnCall IVR Suite v3.3.x
Troubleshooting IVR Designer
Despite Geomant's continuous improvement efforts there might be known (and as yet undiscovered) product defects in any given release of the product which have not been resolved yet. If your investigations suggest that the issue is caused by a bug in the application, you should report this to Geomant or affiliated business partner.
In general the usual indications of any erroneous behaviour will appear on the GUI either as a web browser error message or as a log event in the IVR Designer's logs. In the vast majority of the cases the error message details help you detect the root cause of the failure – which tend to lie with environmental or configurational factors.
Known Issues
Major issues known to Geomant with regards to this release of the product – as well as the possible workarounds or resolutions for these problems – are described in this section.
User session dropped randomly in IVR Designer
Occasionally, the web session of the logged in user cen get expired, lost. When this occurs, the flow name changes to ‘Unnamed’ or ‘Undefined’ as well as the flow version in the upper left corner of the GUI. Additionally, the items disappear from one or more section of the Toolbar, the sound files cannot be played or the announcements cannot be edited. The user name and the last saved time also disappears from the information area.
To resolve: Refresh the page (press "F5" key on your keyboard) and log in to IVR Designer again. The session will be restored and the flow will be loaded correctly.
IVR Designer responds slowly if a large or complex flow is loaded
As the the number of nodes and templates grows, the loading process becomes increasingly slow. Also, scrolling the Stage might not be as smooth as with smaller flows.
To resolve: Try to keep the flow lean and if possible try merging more nodes into templates or using subflows. The less number of nodes or templates are in the flow the faster the GUI becomes.
